When moving across LA, parts of the San Fernando Valley can often-times be overlooked. It is a similar feeling to how a skateboard pushes through a city with lights and faces zooming past in a soft blur…but, it is the heartbeat and home of not only us, but our local skate shop, LEAD. They are at the core of our neighborhood constantly looking for opportunities to serve the community and do dope sh*t. BONITA never imagined that we would have the chance to design skate decks to not only honor and respect girl skate culture, but bringing femme energy into a male dominated space. Mujeres can do Anything!

      We know it takes a lot of hustle and grind to enter a new circle whether itt be social, professional, etc., but when you stay in your purpose, life will Lead you to unexpected places. When we met Oscar and his family, we knew LEAD’s values aligned with our own and that we had to collaborate to create something super cool with girls who were just as passionate about their skating as we are about our work. Girls who were loud and proud about Grind’n Pretty.

      When designing “The Valley Landmarks” T-shirt, we knew it had to represent our mutual love for our hometown. We got to sit down with Oscar to talk about spaces in SFV that we had been to at one point of our lives or another. We chose the spaces we grew up in. The spaces that inspire us. The spaces that are The Valley. 

      The 818 commUNITY is everything and we are honored to come together to not only showcase a super dope collab but to also share the feeling and energy that The Valley brings! 🌹✨
